Two spin-offs of the University of Luxembourg, Magrid Learning Solution and NIUM, are about to launch their commercial offer, following the signature of licenses negotiated with the Office for Partnerships, Knowledge and Technology Transfer (PaKTT Office). Both companies were hosted at the University Incubator. In order to develop their activity, they now benefit from the intellectual property rights of the research that led to their launch.
Magrid Learning Solution offers an individualized mathematics program for children from three to nine years old with learning difficulties.
Magrid has been conceived by Dr. Tahereh Pazouki as part of her PhD at the University’s Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences.
Magrid Learning Solution was born from research at the University of the Luxembourg and is all about education, which is why we are glad to continue to collaborate, says Dr. Tahereh Pazouki of Magrid Learning Solution. This commercialization agreement allows us to make our programs available for children and schools in Luxembourg and abroad.
NIUM develops solutions for personalized nutritional recommendations thanks to an advanced analysis of the microbiome and the metabolism.
NIUM is a spin-off of the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine founded by Dr. Alberto Noronha, also on the basis of his doctoral research.
We are very happy to achieve yet another milestone in a fruitful collaboration with the University of Luxembourg”, says Dr. Alberto Noronha of NIUM. “The licensed software is the outcome of many years of research and will allow NIUM to commercialize its food analysis services to companies in the agri-food industry, and in the future expand this technology for healthcare applications.”
